Tyrosine Phosphatase-related Islet Antigen 2 AutoAb (IA2A) ELISA Kit
SIZE
96 wells/kit
Tyrosine Phosphatase-related Islet Antigen 2 Autoantibodies (IA2A) targets IA-2 protein; found in beta cells. These antibodies are primarily associated with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and are used to help distinguish it from type 2 diabetes (T2D) and identify individuals at risk of developing T1D. IA-2 antibodies are a key indicator of islet autoimmunity, a process where the body's immune system attacks its own pancreatic beta cells. They are found in the majority of individuals newly diagnosed with T1D and can be present even before the onset of symptoms.
