Human Zinc Transporter 8 Autoantibody ELISA Kit
SIZE
96 wells/kit
Zinc Transporter 8 (ZnT8) is a protein that plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis and secretion of insulin by regulating zinc levels within the pancreatic beta cells. When the body's immune system mistakenly identifies ZnT8 as a threat, it produces antibodies against it. These antibodies are called ZnT8 autoantibodies (ZnT8A). ZnT8A, along with other islet autoantibodies (like those against insulin, GAD65, and IA-2), are used to identify individuals at risk of developing T1D.
